What kind of film camera should I use for studio photography?
Any camera with fully manual control can work well for studio photography. When you work in a studio, what matters is that you can control your camera settings to balance the light from the flash.
The camera body does not matter, as long as you have the ability to sync your flash. To meter for flash, an external light meter that can be set on flash mode, can be of great help. Alternatively, you can test with a digital camera and then adjust the settings on your analogue camera to match.
In a studio it can be very useful to be able to change your lenses, depending on the look you want to achieve and the size of the studio. Getting to choose from a variety of prime lenses is important to capture every detail when aiming for a high end look and high quality images. For this reason, medium format cameras are often used in studio photography, where thanks to the use of a tripod, their weight is also not a problem.
